After the discovery of Tutankhamen’s tomb in 1922 by Howard Carter the world became gripped by ‘King Tut mania’, and the fashion world of course got in on the act, with the influence of the new discoveries of the ancient world inspiring many designers all through the mid ’20s. Here’s a JFD take on the look…this opulent 1920s Ancient Egyptian Revival inspired flapper dress echoing the vivid colours of the famous death mask of the young Egyptian king.
